Premium Discounts for Hurricane Loss Mitigation

The State of Florida has required that insurance companies give discounts for important wind mitigation features. The discounts are retroactive to the beginning date of your last policy.

Your business or home is eligible for the Windstorm Construction Features Credit if your policy covers the peril of Windstorm or Hail and your home has loss mitigation features or construction techniques in one or more of the following areas of construction:
                        
Roof Covering
Roof Geometry
Roof Deck Attachment		     Roof-Wall Connection
Window Protection; or
Door Type

Mitigation features or techniques promote property protection. This information should be sent to your agent for application of the discounts. Discounts can be applied to your policy upon receipt of an inspection from a state licensed engineer, validating the existence of wind mitigation features or techniques.
